Generosity is one of Alpha Phi's High Ideals of Membership.

Alpha Phi Foundation

Alpha Phi Foundation is the proud philanthropic partner of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, with a mission of advancing women’s lives through the power of philanthropy. In 1956, Alpha Phi was one of the first women’s fraternities to establish its own foundation. Women’s heart health, which had been a priority of Alpha Phi International since 1946, officially became the philanthropic priority of The Alpha Phi Foundation upon its founding. The Foundations 100,000$ "Heart to Heart" grant is given annually to researchers with the aim of furthering the study of women's heart disease. The Foundation also proudly invests in leadership, scholarship, and emergency aid for its members.

Alpha Phi Foundation supports Alpha Phi Fraternity, our members, and the communities in which we reside in their pursuit of advancing women’s lives now and into the future.

Philanthropy

The Kappa Zeta Chapter hosts multiple Philanthropy events per year in support of the Alpha Phi Foundation.

Alpha Phifa: Usually held in the fall, this double-elimination style soccer tournament has teams competing for a donation to a philanthropic organization of their choice. Filled with laughter, community Bonding, music, and of course a yummy bake sale this is definitely an event to mark on your calendars!

Mac 'n' Phis: This international favourite is hosted at most Alpha Phi Chapters across the continent. Last year, we co-hosted Mac N Phi’s with the Phi Kappa Pi (PKP) Fraternity and served All You Can Eat mac and cheese of varying recipes so that there was something for everyone, so had meat, others were gluten free or vegan friendly. Some of our wilder flavours included bbq chicken mac and cheese and pumpkin mac and cheese!

Heart Health Week: Each year in February, Canada and the USA celebrate Heart Health Month as a tribute to the millions of people and families affected by Heart Disease. Women’s Heart Health has been Alpha Phi’s main philanthropic priority since 1946 and so annually in the Mont of February all chapters participate in a week of events for their campus to help raise awareness on the reality of Heart Health, available resources, changes we can make as individuals and raising money for Heart Health Research, click here to read more about the Alpha Phi’s Heart to Heart Grant. Kappa Zeta’s past events have included a professionally taught yoga class, a heart healthy bake sale, ice skating, CPR training, hiking up Mount Royal and donating blood.

Our philanthropy events will most likely look different this year due to COVID-19, but we are working hard to plan safe and fun events and we hope to see you there!

"We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity."

Community Service

Generosity represents one of Alpha Phi's four High Ideals of membership. As such, we provide our members with a variety of volunteer opportunities to give back in the Montreal community. The specific types of opportunities our chapter offers its members vary based upon the needs of the local community and the interests and passions of the chapter members. Recently, our chapters' service events have included organizing a holiday toy drive for the Montreal Children's Hospital, volunteering at Chez Doris, a PJ collection & fundraiser for the Old Brewery Mission, volunteering at MADA, making sandwiches for the homeless and much more! We aim to dedicate our support to those in need and give back to the Montreal community throughout the year.

We are always looking for new ways to help the Montreal community. Please contact us if your organization would like to partner with us!
